Project Statuses
When you create an internal project, Primershee automatically sets the project
status to "Internal". For an internal project, that's all there is to the
project status. If you made a mistake and meant to set up a project under
a certain client, you can click the "Move" button next to the project in the
internal project list on the home page.

After you click "Move" a pop-up will appear. First, select the client to
which you desire to move the project. Now, let's talk about the "What kind
of project?" Incidentally, this option also appears when you are creating
a client project. You have two choices: "To Be Quoted" or "Maintenance."
If you have a client where you are provided ongoing hourly maintenance, then
choose "Maintenance" which will set your project status to "Maintenance."
On the other hand, if you want to build an estimate for a potential future
project, then choose "To Be Quoted" which will set your project status to
"Customer Requests Quote."

After you click "Submit," you will find find yourself on the page of the client
you just selected with the project that you just moved listed in the project
list for that client. You can move the project back to internal by
clicking on "Move" again from here, which would disassociate this project from
any client and change the status back to "Internal.
Here is a table of all the project statuses. Each project status allows
tasks to be assigned to a subset of categories.

Basically for a project to be quoted, if the projecet moves along, there is a
logical progression of project statuses: Customer Requests Quote --> Await
Customer Signoff --> Development --> Testing & Debugging --> Maintenance.
The table above also shows the name of the button which will advance your
project to the next status.
Just to be clear, once a project is in maintenance, it pretty much stays there.
So, as far as Primershee is concerned, maintenance project and internal project
do not have any project life cycle. Next, let's go through a fictitous
project cycle from quoting to maintenance. Click here to view Estimating a
Project.
